Koniag Management Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to provide cybersecurity engineering expertise for federal government clients. This role focuses on CDM and ZTA implementations, requiring extensive experience with enterprise security tools and architecture.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include but are not limited to:
The Senior Security Engineer will serve as a technical subject matter expert for federal agency staff, providing engineering expertise and administration of enterprise security tools. Key responsibilities include:
Engineer and administer CDM/ZTA tool stack including Tenable Nessus, HCL BigFix, SailPoint, Okta, Axonius, and Cloudflare
Conduct technical reviews of enterprise architecture updates and security mechanisms
Develop technical documentation, white papers, and PowerPoint briefings addressing security architecture
Lead technical working sessions with stakeholders
Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for CDM tools
Provide expertise in hardware/software asset management and vulnerability enumeration
Draft technical guidance and policy documents
Manage identity management systems in federated environments
Identify and assess security vulnerabilities, risks, and mitigation strategies
Education and Experience:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field, OR 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering
Network engineering certification and/or industry standard certifications (Security+, CISSP)
Experience with CDM and ZTA implementations
Required Skills and Competencies:
Expert-level knowledge of CDM tools (Tenable Nessus, HCL BigFix, Axonius, Okta)
Strong understanding of identity and access management principles
Expertise in vulnerability management and assessment
Proficiency in hardware and software asset management
Experience with enterprise architecture design and implementation
Strong technical writing and documentation skills
Ability to conduct technical working sessions and presentations
Knowledge of federal security requirements and frameworks
Experience in federated environment administration
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
Top-Secret security clearance
Desired Skills and Competencies:
Master's degree in related field
Additional security certifications (CEH, CISM, CASP+)
Experience with cloud security architecture
Knowledge of DevSecOps practices
Experience with federal government systems
Experience with automation and orchestration tools
Expertise in zero trust architecture implementation
Understanding of FISMA compliance requirements
Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems
Background in federal government IT operations
