You will analyse customer needs, prepare data, and deliver impactful reporting that validates value and successfully moves the sales process to close. As a senior member of the team, you will also mentor junior sales engineers and drive the evolution of our POC methodology. This role reports to the Vice President of Sales and is based in San Francisco (Onsite).What You'll DoDesign and execute complex POCs that demonstrate Alembic's value, progressing deals to closeLead technical discovery and requirements gathering with senior customer stakeholdersPrepare and process customer data to build accurate POC reporting for enterprise-scale implementationsDeliver compelling presentations of POC results to C-level and senior customer stakeholdersCollaborate with Enterprise AEs and Product to align solutions with strategic objectivesDrive scalable POC processes and best practices across the sales engineering teamMentor and develop junior sales engineersContribute to product roadmap discussions based on customer technical feedbackWhat Will Help You Succeed5-8 years in Sales Engineering or similar pre-sales technical roles in B2B SaaS, data, cloud, or AIProven track record leading successful POCs that closed complex enterprise dealsStrong data analysis skills, with ability to prepare and process large-scale enterprise data setsAdvanced proficiency in Python and/or other scripting languages for data preparation and quality-testingDeep experience with data platforms, cloud infrastructure, or AI solutionsExcellent communication and presentation skills with C-level executivesStrong problem-solving mindset and strategic thinking abilityCollaborative and proactive approach with team leadership experienceAbility to travel as needed (~25%)Experience delivering POCs for data, cloud, or AI in marketing contextsBackground as a senior data analyst, business analyst, or technical consultantDeep familiarity with enterprise procurement and security review processesStartup or high-growth environment experience with scaling responsibilityAdvanced technical certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect or GCP ProfessionalAbility to create and manage scalable POC frameworks and reusable technical assetsExperience working with marketing customers and understanding their technical landscapePrevious startup or founder experienceExpert-level technical training or certifications in AI/MLExperience contributing to product strategy and roadmap decisionsAdvanced exposure to value engineering, ROI modelling, and business case developmentThe role is right for you if:You're a seasoned sales engineer ready to lead technical demonstrations of cutting-edge AI technology.
