Job Description Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated, technically proficient Senior Sales Engineer with deep expertise in MultiValue (MV) database platforms (e.g., UniVerse, UniData, D3, jBASE). In this role, you will work closely with Account Executives and Product Management to drive revenue growth by delivering compelling technical presentations, demos, POCs, and architectural guidance to prospects and customers.
As the technical SME throughout the sales cycle, you will lead all technical aspects of opportunities to help progress and close business. Our Sales Engineers must function well as a member of a dynamic team, while having the ability to also work independently with customers, partners, and various functional groups within Rocket Software.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and propose MultiValue solutions that address their needs.
Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations tailored to business and technical audiences.
Provide in-depth product knowledge on MultiValue technologies and their integration with modern ecosystems (e.g., REST APIs, web frameworks, cloud).
Guide customers through proofs of concept (POCs), pilot deployments, and technical evaluations.
Serve as a liaison between Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to relay customer feedback and influence product direction.
Provide knowledge and skills to help qualify business opportunities by understanding the user requirements and technical environment.
Required Qualifications:
3–7 years of experience in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Technical Pre-Sales role.
Hands-on experience with at least one MultiValue database (e.g., UniVerse, UniData, jBASE, D3).
Strong understanding of legacy modernization, API integrations, and hybrid/cloud architectures.
Familiarity with relational and non-relational database concepts and design.
Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to tailor messaging to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Detail-oriented and can rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts and technologies.
Willingness to travel for customer meetings and events when needed.

The base salary range for this role is $129,966.40 - $162,458.00 /year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
