About the Team: The Avionics team manages the full lifecycle of Terran R's nervous system, designing, building, testing, installing, and operating the hardware that connects and controls all major electrical systems on the vehicle and ground. The team combines avionics design, manufacturing, and testing to enable rapid iteration and feedback. Engineers work closely with propulsion, GNC, fluids, and stage engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and operation. About the Role: As a Power Electronics engineer within the Avionics team, you will lead high power device development through all product stages—from initial design, board bring-up, verification, qualification, to flight production, integration, and vehicle operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across the company to optimize vehicle performance. A strong candidate will have a deep technical background in power electronics design, focusing on battery systems, power distribution, or related devices such as converters, inverters/rectifiers, or motor controllers. About You: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field 7+ years of experience in power electronics design for harsh environments and mission-critical applications like launch vehicles, spacecraft, aircraft, or robotics Experience with eCAD software such as Altium or equivalent Experience with hardware bring-up, validation, debugging, and data analysis Experience with board-level design from concept to manufacturing Experience collaborating with mechanical, thermal, electrical, and software teams to develop integrated electronics solutions Nice to have but not required: Familiarity with embedded software development and integration for avionics systems Experience with designing for reliability and manufacturability of avionics hardware and systems Technical expertise in power electronics areas such as motor drives, control, DC-DC converters, load switches, high voltage DC electronics Relativity Space is committed to transparency and fairness in compensation.
