Must Have:

Overview:These roles are critical to evolving our observability strategy and building robust, scalable tooling.

Roles:
1. DevOps-Focused Role:
  • Focused on operational automation and scripting (Python required)
  • Strong experience with observability (metrics, logs, traces)
  • OpenTelemetry expertise highly preferred
  • Mid-level candidates acceptable

2. Development-Focused Role:

  • Strong AWS design experience required
  • Proficiency in Golang or Python (must be strong in at least one)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Expected to own project design and delivery end-to-end
  • Familiarity with observability tools like Datadog, Grafana, or New Relic is a plus
  • Senior-level, self-motivated engineer preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain observability pipelines using OpenTelemetry, Golang, and AWS
  • Develop and manage CI/CD job templates for automated testing (APIs, Web)
  • Customize CI/CD templates and validate infrastructure integrations
  • Lead technical planning, estimation, and delivery of engineering milestones
  • Maintain documentation and support internal knowledge sharing
  • Address technical debt and enhance system reliability
  • Collaborate across teams and adapt to changing project scopes
  • Work on high-scale systems handling millions to billions of datapoints

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Golang and/or Python
  • Hands-on production experience with AWS; AWS certifications are a plus
  • Solid understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework
  • Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Kubernetes and CI/CD pipeline expertise
  • Familiar with observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, or New Relic
  • STEM Bachelor's Degree required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OpenTelemetry and cloud-native observability principles
  • Scripting in Bash or PowerShell
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Spinnaker
  • Front-end experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, or React (nice to have)

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently in remote/distributed teams
  • Capable of translating business goals into technical solutions
