Leidos is in search of a skilled Senior Network Engineer to become a part of our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team, supporting a vital digital modernization initiative critical to DISA and Fourth Estate Agencies. This position operates Monday through Friday during the day shift; however, flexibility for shift changes is essential due to mission requirements. You should be open to mid or swing shifts as needed. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Active Secret security clearance is mandatory (U.S. Citizenship required).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, maintain, and operate Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), Wireless networks, Internet connectivity, and ensure network security.
Maintain existing network equipment and install new equipment in various settings.
Optimize system performance and manage data traffic flow.
Conduct data captures to gather network performance metrics.
Analyze design to minimize network latency and maximize data throughput using performance monitoring tools.
Contribute to the design of the organization's network and mission architecture.
Design solutions, integrate, configure, deploy, test, and maintain different network devices and methodologies.
Ensure effective connectivity between various front-end and back-end components.
Gather essential data to define system/component performance and interface requirements.
Implement specific network solutions for server needs including load balancing, VPNs, firewalls, Traffic Shaping, VoIP, IPSec, IP encryption, and NAT.
Be available to support the team as needed, including occasional on-call support (typically one week every two months) or additional hours based on mission demands.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Proficient in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS).
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, ACL, NAT, SDWAN, QoS, high availability, VoIP, Wireless, DHCP, and DNS.
Extensive experience in network hardware troubleshooting.
A Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of network engineering experience; additional years may substitute for a degree.
Exceptional analytical skills with creative problem-solving abilities and root cause analysis.
Strong organizational skills with a commitment to documentation efforts.
Able to multitask within a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
Possess a DoD IAT level II baseline certification (Sec+) prior to starting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Familiar with procedures, techniques, tools, and equipment for installing and maintaining wireless communications systems.
Proficiency in Cisco IOS or other IP/transport network protocols and methodologies.
Deep understanding of IP principles.
Experience with Cisco routers, Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco switches, or KG175.
Knowledgeable in tools such as Science Logic, Catalyst Center, or Ansible Tower.
CCNP Enterprise certification is preferred.
Experience with DISA STIGs interpretation, implementation, and assessment.
Skilled in implementing network security controls, such as firewalls and intrusion systems.
Adept at configuring network devices with security best practices.
Experience managing security patches and updates effectively.
Capable of configuring and managing firewalls, VPNs, and security appliances.
Experience tuning security devices for optimized performance and security.

Pay Range: $89,700.00 - $162,150.00 This pay range is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation.
