CLEARANCE
Active Top Secretclearance with SCI eligibility (existing clearance required to start)

LOCATION
Springfield, VA
OVERVIEW
Provides subject matter expertise (SME), mentorship, on-the-job training, and operational support for technologies within the customers IT networking enterprise architecture
Supports Networking and Communications Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team
Responsible for engineering and operational assignments related to designing, deploying, and optimizing enterprise and data center network environments
Translates stakeholder and Government requirements into network solutions and supports network upgrades, reconfigurations, hardware/software acquisitions, installations, and testing
Applies current and emerging network technologies and protocols to resolve complex engineering challenges
Supports and oversees O&M activities of Networking team with technologies including Cisco, Juniper, Riverbed, and SolarWinds
Acts as the highest escalation tier for networking issues, guiding troubleshooting and performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
Maintains documentation for network systems and components including as-built documentation and performance plans
Collaborates with IT Architecture and Engineering (A&E) to assess new technologies for modernization
Approximately 15% travel annually
QUALIFICATIONS
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Data Center certification required
CompTIA Security+ ce, GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), or Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in network engineering across multi-platform IT systems
At least 7 years of experience with enterprise-level Cisco hardware, operating systems (IOS, NX-OS, ACI), and technologies (Voice, Video, Routing, Switching, Security)
At least 5 years of experience with Cisco Routing and Switching technologies (e.g., BGP, EIGRP, ICMP, HSRP, OSPF, QoS, STP, VPC, VRF)
At least 5 years of experience in network traffic flow analysis, network topology design, security, load balancing, and fault-tolerant architectures
Experience with secure encrypted networking devices (e.g., Taclanes, Border Guards), network-based security technologies (e.g., Next Gen Firewalls, ACLs)
Experience in designing and maintaining solutions compliant with U.S. Government IA and security standards including DISA SRGs and STIGs
Experience leading dispersed teams, task execution, and performance evaluation
Proficient in advanced troubleshooting and monitoring techniques
Meets Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) Network Operations Specialist (441); Intermediate Level for SECNAV M-5239.2 compliance
NICE TO HAVE
CCNP certifications in Routing and Switching, Collaboration, and Security
Certifications in Juniper and Riverbed technologies
Strong understanding of Cisco data center, LAN/WAN, and security solutions
Experience supporting secure enterprise network implementation and sustainment
Familiarity with Cisco ASA and other security appliances
Experience supporting high availability, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, and COOP scenarios
Proficiency with Riverbed Steelhead appliances for WAN Optimization and DPI
Experience configuring and managing Juniper Firewalls and VPNs
Knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), TelePresence Management Suite (TMS), and Video Communication Server (VCS)
Experience with SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager (NCM)
Background in mentoring and providing on-the-job training
Familiarity with Cisco DCNM and/or ACI for Software Defined Networking and Secure Multi-Tenancy solutions
