SMX is seeking a highly motivated Senior Network Engineer to support our NAWCAD customer at Patuxent River Naval Air Station.

The Senior Network Engineer will design, implement, and manage the customer's secure network infrastructures, leveraging Cisco, Juniper, TCP/IP, VoIP and other technologies according to DoD/Navy cybersecurity procedures and policies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage secure LAN/WAN architectures for a DoD/Navy environment

Configure and maintain routers, switches, and firewalls Maintain security configuration compliance and risk management in accordance with DoD/Navy policies

Enhance network security and performance using Cisco and Juniper networking technologies Implement and optimize VoIP solutions

Conduct network performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization

Ensure mission-critical availability by maintaining cable plant design and network infrastructure installations

Delegate networking maintenance tasks

Resolve escalated network support issues

Required Skills & Experience

Clearance Required: Secret

Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret

7+ years of related experience

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Experience building and maintaining network infrastructure

Experience collaborating with network architects to design and implement functional networks

Experience installing and configuring networking hardware

Experience creating and implementing network security measures

Experience conducting regular network performance tests

Project management skills

Communication skills

Network security expertise

Network analysis and troubleshooting skills

Security+ or other IAT Level II (or higher) certification

Desired Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline

The proposed salary for this position is:

$105,100—$175,100 USD
