Medtronic’s Danvers, MA location has an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. This onsite daily position requires the ability to accomplish assignments with limited supervision. Some of these tasks include, design of tooling and fixtures to meet business needs, Machine design with a heavy emphasis on precision mechanisms, and automation, work with the team on generating new processes such as lasers, and utilize the additive manufacturing resources of the group. This candidate will work in the Equipment Development Group, which supports the Danvers Shared Technology Center Goals and Mission, plus supports various equipment at our contract manufacturing facilities. This candidate will support the Danvers Technology Center of Excellence Charter.

A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned as business needs are dynamic.
·Concept layouts of new machinery, not available in the commercial world
·Concept layouts of jigs and fixtures, to meet customer needs
·Designs to modify commercial equipment to meet internal needs
·Research new equipment, machinery, processes and determine feasibility for our needs
·Detail design of machinery, jigs and fixtures
·PDM management of design documents
·Concept designs for future machinery
·Work with team to determine future state of the business and the Equipment Development Group activities
·Work with the team during the assembly, test and debug of machinery and equipment designed
·Attend meetings as a Subject Matter Expert based on designs completed
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree required
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
Nice to Have
BS in Engineering
·PDM exposure
·Solidworks experience 4 years minimum
