Expedia Group is seeking aSenior Prompt Engineerto join our dynamicPerformance Marketingteam. This hybrid role blends the strategic mindset of a Technical Product Manager with foundational knowledge of Machine Learning Science, focusing on harnessing the power ofGenerative AIandLarge Language Models (LLMs)to transform and scale our global digital advertising efforts. You’ll collaborate with marketing managers, data engineers, and AI specialists to streamline campaign creation, automate reporting, and generate actionable insights—enabling smarter, faster, and more scalable marketing decisions. In this role, you will: Design, test, and optimize prompt frameworks using LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Claude, Gemini) to automate key advertising workflows.
Automate campaign creation tasks such as keyword generation, ad copywriting, audience segmentation, and asset development.
Leverage AI tools to generate performance summaries and reduce manual reporting overhead.
Collaborate with marketers to identify key business drivers and generate AI-powered insights that inform campaign strategy.
Build real-time or near-real-time optimization systems for budget allocation, creative testing, and channel mix.
Experiment with advanced techniques like retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, and multi-modal integrations (e.g., NLP + structured data).
Ensure prompt outputs are safe, accurate, and aligned with Expedia’s brand voice and advertising standards.
Partner with engineers, analysts, and data scientists to integrate AI solutions into internal tools and dashboards.
Experience and qualifications: 6-8 years of experience in a technical role, ideally in digital marketing, product management, software development, automation, or AI/ML applications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree inComputer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Marketing Analytics, Machine Learning a related field of study or equivalent work experience
Have led feasibility and prioritization exercises for product roadmaps
Deep understanding of LLMs and prompt engineering techniques (e.g., few-shot prompting, chain-of-thought, structured output)
Proven track record of using AI to drive marketing automation, campaign optimization, or customer insights
Proficient in Python, SQL, and working with APIs (especially OpenAI, Cohere, Anthropic)
Comfortable working with large datasets and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
Strong communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally across marketing, product, and data teams
Thrive in afast-paced, iterative environmentfocused on experimentation and continuous learning
Familiar with performance marketing platforms (Google Ads, Meta) and key metrics (ROAS, CPA, CTR) and A/B testing and marketing experimentation frameworks
The total cash range for this position in Austin is $173,000.00 to $242,500.00.
