SUMMARY
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer provides engineering support for new process and product development, facility projects and continuous improvement efforts. This role leads other engineers and technicians in the Tooling and Engineering departments, facilitating efficient manufacturing operations across the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversees the daily workflow of the engineers and CNC technician.
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Collaborate with other managers and leadership to ensure the safe upkeep and operation of facility infrastructure & systems and production equipment.
Assesses cost effectiveness and feasibility of manufacturing processes; make and implement recommendations to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
Lead the design for manufacturability process, prepare process FMEAs, root cause analyses, plan facility, equipment, and resource changes and initial product builds, and ensure that Manufacturing deliverables to Product Development are completed and on time.
Supervise CNC operations, ensuring all work is performed accurately and according to quality and safety standards.
Manage the development and execution of plant renovations and expansions, coordinate outside contractors and vendors.
Assist the Maintenance Manager and/or other appropriate leadership with programs, activities, and responsibilities of the maintenance department.
Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to equipment, tooling, material and product designs when required.
Ensure compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines, including DEP, EPA and OSHA requirements.
Prepares and implements the departmental budget.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related
5 to 10 years related leadership experience in manufacturing or engineering
Prior experience in computer aided design (CAD)
Experience in working at paper, printing or film converting industries
Superior interpersonal, verbal and written skills
Self-motivated and self-starter, as well as a strong team player
Comfortable being in a hands-on role
