As a Senior Linux Systems Engineer, you will engage with state-of-the-art technology to develop advanced systems such as the Combined Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) and Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Trainer. Your responsibilities will encompass technical planning, hardware design, network engineering, Linux OS configuration, and system-level software development as well as deploying Linux-based training systems. Your contributions will play an instrumental role in analyzing systems requirements and conducting trade studies to evaluate the latest hardware innovations. Additional travel may be required to partner organizations or trainer sites across strategic locations such as Pearl Harbor, San Diego, and Norfolk, providing you a dynamic set of challenges and experiences. Required Education Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Sciences, Network Engineering, Systems Software, or a related technical field.
Required Experience Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible to obtain a U.S. Government granted security clearance; employment is contingent on receiving an interim Secret security clearance.
8+ years of relevant work experience.
Demonstrated expertise with Linux operating systems, such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Desired Experience Familiarity with Atlassian products for documenting, tracking requirements, and monitoring product development progress.
Experience in building and configuring virtual machines, containers, and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
Leadership abilities in planning and orchestrating deliveries, ensuring adequate team preparation and resources.
Skills to communicate effectively with Government customers regarding project status and issue resolution.
Proven root cause analysis abilities for resolving complex technical issues with new hardware or software products.
