Senior Lead Network Engineer
CGS is seeking an experienced Senior Lead Network Engineer to join a team focused on evaluating, enhancing, and maintaining a large-scale network project. The role involves assessing existing networks, designing and implementing infrastructure covering wireless, wired, and software networks, and consulting on hardware and software needs. The engineer will also conduct systems testing, vulnerability assessments, and quality assurance, interfacing with government personnel, stakeholders, subject matter experts, and vendors.

Skills and attributes for success :
Operate and manage NPS network infrastructure
Enhance infrastructure monitoring and reporting with network management software
Maintain documentation for network infrastructure within the NPS environment
Review best practices and recommend improvements for architecture, design, management, and operation
Administer Cloudpath onboarding, monitor and troubleshoot wireless network health, and apply security patches and updates (0800-1700 PST, Mon-Fri)
Assess and optimize NPS network infrastructure
Define and execute testing procedures for new infrastructure projects
Implement network solutions within NPS infrastructure projects
Provide design guidance for network solutions
Offer informal training and knowledge transfer on network best practices and operations
Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Information Systems, or related field
Strong documentation skills (JIRA, Wiki, Network Diagrams)
Effective communication with end users, staff, and technical teams
CWNA Certification or equivalent
BCNE Certification or equivalent
Experience with RF site survey tools (Ekahau, RF Scanners, Wireshark)
Knowledge of layer 2 switching, layer 3 routing protocols (VLANs, 802.1w, OSPF, VRRP)
Understanding of network security (802.1x, MAC Authentication, ACLs, RADIUS, CA)
Troubleshooting RF and LAN issues
Proficiency with LINUX, MS Server 2013, VMware, etc.
Master's Degree in relevant fields (preferred)
Minimum 3 years experience with disaster recovery planning/testing
Experience with penetration testing and vulnerability assessments
Knowledge of cyber threat analysis
Familiarity with Agile/SCUM methodologies
Additional industry certifications/licenses are a plus
