Position Title: Senior Engineer Department: Technology Location: Houston, TX Reports To: Engineering Manager Classification: Non-Exempt
Position Summary: The Senior Engineer is a senior level role within the Technology organization. This is an individual contributor role, with no direct reports. This role requires prior product and/or industry knowledge that is transferable to Gilmore products. This role is expected to focus on tactical goals which are set by Engineering Manager, in support of the strategic goals set by the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). A Senior Engineer is expected to operate with little oversight from the Engineering Manager. A Senior Engineer is expected to possess all skills necessary to execute projects related to applications, new product development, and sustaining engineering. A Senior Engineer is used as an approver for engineering design packages, so long as their product competency aligns with the design package being approved. A Senior Engineer is the highest level within the Technology Organization for an individual contributor with tactical execution focus. Over time, the individual in this role is expected to learn about Gilmore's products, design process, manufacturing process, and industries served.

Create product technical documentation, such as test procedures, assembly procedures, inspection procedures, material specifications, coating specifications, quality specifications, etc... Create product design calculations to ensure product can withstand intended use Research and apply customer and industry code to product design Troubleshoot product issues using root cause analysis tools Perform product technical risk assessments Support engineering test laboratory Effective communication with team and functions Can serve as design approver within engineering release process Drive product design and documentation standardization Able to meet and work directly with customers Provides input to business cases for product development Serve as technical product owner Create, review, and modify electrical designs, ensuring technical specifications, safety regulations, and industry standards are met Develop prototype electrical systems and validate functionality through testing
Required Education: Preferred BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering; +8 years of experience MS Degree in Mechanical Engineering; +6 years of experience Minor in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science a plus
Required Skills/Experience: Essential Basic understanding of Engineering practices, including design methods and calculations Able to read, interpret and/or develop technical documentation Able to grasp technical concepts and translate into cost effective solutions Must take ownership of assignments and be accountable for completed work Self-motivated to complete assignments to a high standard Basic understanding of typical manufacturing processes, such as machining and fabrication Able to execute tasks/projects to defined schedule and budget Mastery of ASME VIII, NACE MRO175, ASME B31 Mastery of API 6A, API 17D, API 17H, API 16D Working knowledge of ASME IX and API 1104 Extensive product knowledge related to Gilmore products Strong knowledge of electrical components, circuits, power systems, and control systems Familiarity with relevant electrical codes, standards and safety regulations (UL, NEC, MSHA, OSHA, NEMA, etc...) System design experience utilizing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
