Senior Engineer - Test and Validation Mossville, IL Caterpillar’s Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) designs and manufactures diesel and gas engines, ranging from 400 kilowatts to 16 megawatts of power, and the key engine systems such as fuel, air, after treatment and cooling which are used to power oil & gas, electric power, marine, rail and Cat machine applications around the world. LPSD currently has an opening for a Test and Validation Senior Engineer within its Gas Engine Development team. The Test and Validation Senior Engineer will lead test cell development to efficiently execute NTI, NPI, and CPI programs for these critical markets. The position will be accountable for establishing best practices for data acquisition, troubleshooting cell issues, coaching operations resources, and ensuring exemplary data quality. The successful candidate should have extensive test cell knowledge and troubleshooting capability. Responsibilities Resolving test cell issues to ensure timely product development. Participating in the adoption of new technologies and processes such as automation, to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvements. Planning and improving testing procedures to make the test more reliable, efficient, and cost-effective. Monitoring results, machine and process capabilities, and performance reliability. Degree Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
