Base pay range $180,000.00/yr - $210,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Roc Search Client Services Manager - Embedded Engineering Delivery Specialist Hybrid NYC - Fulltime - $180-210k - Benefits + bonus - Senior Systems Engineer (Robotics) About the Role We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with deep expertise in modern C++, to join our advanced robotics team. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in low-level systems development, real-time performance optimization, and complex hardware-software integration. You will be instrumental in architecting and implementing core subsystems that power our autonomous robotic platforms. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and optimize high-performance C++ software for real-time robotic systems. Develop and maintain low-level drivers, middleware, and system services for embedded and distributed platforms. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, perception, and controls) to define system-level architecture and interfaces. Lead debugging and performance profiling efforts across heterogeneous compute environments (CPU, GPU, microcontrollers). Contribute to safety-critical software development processes (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or similar). Mentor junior engineers and conduct rigorous code reviews to uphold software quality and maintainability. Integrate third-party libraries and frameworks (e.g., ROS2, DDS, Eigen, Boost) into production systems. Required Qualifications 6+ years of professional experience in C++ systems programming, with a strong grasp of memory management, concurrency, and template metaprogramming. Proven experience in real-time or embedded systems development. Deep understanding of Linux internals , POSIX APIs, and multi-threaded programming. Experience with robotics middleware (e.g., ROS/ROS2, DDS, LCM). Familiarity with hardware interfaces : SPI, I2C, CAN, UART, GPIO, etc. Proficient in software architecture , design patterns, and system-level debugging. Strong background in version control (Git) , CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks. Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) or hard real-time constraints. Exposure to robot perception , SLAM, or motion planning algorithms. Familiarity with GPU programming (CUDA/OpenCL) or heterogeneous compute systems. Contributions to open-source robotics or systems software projects. Knowledge of safety-critical software standards and formal verification techniques.
