Senior Electrical Engineer - Integrated Circuits

We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to work on technology and process development activities within our Electrical Process Development Group at the Boston Scientific Arden Hills facility. This is a position in a growing segment of our business that is responsible for delivering best-in-class technologies and processes to support both internal and external divisions with products ranging from pulse generators, ablation and diagnostic catheters, and mapping and navigation systems to diagnostic devices and equipment.

This position will be responsible for providing electrical and electronic engineering support and expertise in the definition, design of test patterns, development, and test of products, with a focus on Integrated Circuits (IC) testing. In addition, the position will be responsible for developing capable technologies and processes to ensure efficient and effective transfer of product into production.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Assess process capabilities, prioritize process improvement opportunities, and innovate and implement process improvements on multiple and moderately complex processes
  • Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, fixturing, and/or automation
  • Execute the functional deliverables associated with the PDP/TDP, Project Management, and Quality Systems
  • Prepare and present technical data and recommendations at technical reviews
  • Write validation protocols and reports applicable to new processes
  • Ensure proper documentation is completed to meet quality systems requirements. (e.g., Requirements, BOMs, Validation Plans and Reports, FMEAs, etc.)
  • Oversee development builds associated with the project using special work requests
  • Develop and transfer qualified production lines to Manufacturing
  • Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) input to the engineering print package
  • Contribute ideas to or generate Intellectual Property submissions
  • Train and/or provide work direction to technicians and may train manufacturing personnel when required as part of a validation
  • Train, mentor, and/or provide work direction to early-career engineers
  • May serve as core team member or extended team member on new product projects

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of relevant work experience post-graduation
  • Experience with schematic and circuit board layout (for example Altium, Cadence)
  • Experience with Design Analysis Testing (DAT) and Design Verification Testing (DVT)
  • Experience programming with Visual Basic, Python, C/C++, or related programming languages
  • Integrated circuit testing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Software and systems experience; equipment and fixturing design
  • Process Development; equipment validations and process characterization experience
  • Wafer-level test and burn-in experience
  • Experience with IC failure diagnostics
  • Ability to translate theoretical and abstract ideas into meaningful innovation
  • Semiconductor testing experience, for example Teradyne test systems
  • Experience with digital boundary scan, analog boundary scan, internal scan, LBIST, MBIST
  • Data driven individual; statistical analysis experience
