ASRC is seeking an experienced Database Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SQL Server database administration, with a strong focus on ensuring database performance, security, and availability in a production environment. You will be responsible for managing database operations, troubleshooting, and working closely with cross-functional teams to support daily operations.
Responsibilities:
Expertise in database administration on SQL Server Install database scripts and software applications on both database and web application servers Expert ability to analyze and define database and security requirements Develop database queries and apply patches in test and patch environment Coordinate with Testers and Test Leads for backup, rollback and recovery plans Configure, maintain, and support databases in an enterprise operations environment per application instructions or requirements Support Data-at-Rest encryption Interface with the production support team and software developers to resolve daily database issues Troubleshoot issues stemming from a wide range of errors including problematic database scripts, IIS configuration, Windows application errors, etc. Conduct code reviews as well as testing of installation scripts and deployment guides Requirements: Minimum 8 years' experience in SQL Server 2008/17 Experience with IIS and Service Accounts Experience with Windows Server Experience working with and supporting Agile processing Ability to work in a team environment supporting various groups and user types Ability to communicate complex ideas verbally and in a written format Successful candidate is subject to a background investigation by the government and must be able to meet the requirements to hold a Government Clearance. Must be a US Citizen Active Secret clearance Desired: Experience with Oracle Experience performing code reviews Experience analyzing requirements Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Engineering, or similar discipline.
