Our client is a prestigious global investment management firm based in Los Angeles and is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join its Information Solutions team. This is a strategic, hands-on role responsible for building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ensuring data quality, integration, and availability across the enterprise. You'll work with a modern Azure-based tech stack, enabling data-driven decision-making throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and manage scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other Azure services
Implement ELT/ETL pipelines transforming data across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers
Manage and optimize data storage (Azure Data Lake Storage, Synapse, SQL Data Warehouse, Microsoft Fabric)
Develop data models aligned with business intelligence and reporting needs
Perform automated testing, QA, and DevOps practices for seamless development and deployment
Cleanse and transform data to ensure quality, consistency, and usability
Analyze business needs and identify opportunities to leverage Microsoft Azure Data & Analytics services Technical Scope:
Orchestrate data flow from sources such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar, and internal systems
Leverage Azure Databricks for transformation, aggregation, and advanced data prep
Implement robust validation rules and quality checks throughout the pipeline lifecycle
Optimize storage/retrieval using appropriate Azure storage solutions based on performance and cost
Support collaboration with data scientists and analysts to meet evolving data needs
Maintain detailed documentation for data pipelines, models, and governance processes Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related field
10+ years of experience in data engineering and analytics
Deep understanding of asset management and investment data (e.g., AUM, attribution, benchmarks)
Familiarity with financial data sources (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar, ESG, and alternative data)
Proven experience with data lakes, data warehouses, and cloud-native data platforms Ideal Candidate Attributes:
