Job Summary: Peraton is a next-generation national security company that delivers trusted solutions and technologies to protect the nation and its allies. They are seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to join their Cyber Intel team, focusing on agile software design and development for products integrated into large scale compute clusters and AWS Cloud Infrastructure. Responsibilities: Provides IC data management support to modernize mega data repositories, dataflow management, data provenance and compliance validation, and streaming solutions. Perform requirements analysis, software design, development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution at a high level of proficiency and independence. Communicate directions and provide guidance to more junior programmer/analysts, as required. Develop solutions which integrate or extend COTS or GOTS products. Evaluate project needs, determine tasks and durations, and generate and review designs for technical accuracy, completeness. Qualifications: Required: Proficiency in using AWS SDKs and APIs Deep understanding of AWS Services Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation or Terraform Expertise in Continuous Integration, Deployment, Testing and Monitoring practices Java programming for distributed systems, with experience in networking and multi-threading Agile development experience with source code management practices and tools Well-grounded in Linux fundamentals and knowledge in at least one scripting language (e.g. Python, Ruby, Perl, etc.) Familiarity with microservices software development technique and container-orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes) Cloud Developer Certification Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. A bachelors degree in a technical field and eight (8) years of experience in software development/engineering is required. NOTE: We can accept 4 additional years of experience in leue of the degree. A Masters degree in a technical field and Six (6) years is also acceptable. Six (6) years of experience developing software with high level languages such as Java, C, C++. Five (5) years of experience developing software for UNIX/Linux (Redhat versions 3-5) operating systems. Three (3) years of experience in software integration and software testing, to include developing and implementing test plans and test scripts.
