We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Cloud Database Engineer to manage the design, development, deployment, and technical quality of large-scale DoD enterprise solutions spanning multiple technologies and disciplines. The ideal candidate will have deep IT infrastructure expertise , broad exposure to database design and administration , and the ability to communicate effectively across various levels of business and technical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead cloud database architecture and strategy for mission-critical defense applications.
Design, develop, and deploy enterprise solutions that integrate cloud computing, middleware, networking, and database technologies.
Conduct trade-off analyses of emerging technologies to determine optimal adoption strategies for defense applications.
Establish enterprise standards and best practices , ensuring automation-driven deployment models .
Conduct proof-of-concepts (PoCs) to evaluate and validate technology implementations.
Provide consulting services on information assurance, cybersecurity compliance, and operational best practices .
Collaborate with cross-functional teams , influencing diverse technical and business stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, federal regulations, and IT governance frameworks .
Manage multiple customer demands, establishing priorities and ensuring efficient project execution .
Optimize database operations and ensure always-up, always-available service reliability .
Maintain deep expertise in traditional and cloud database technologies , identifying and implementing tools that enhance operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications: Active Secret Clearance: TS preferred
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field ; OR
Equivalent work experience in a technical role.
Experience:
10+ years in a technology role, with at least 3 years working on platform architecture and strategy .
Skills:
Strong business acumen, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
Proven success in highly regulated environments with experience working alongside compliance partners .
Extensive knowledge of cloud infrastructure, compute services, networking, middleware, and database management .
Ability to evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for best use cases .
Experience designing and implementing automated deployment solutions for enterprise systems.
Certifications:
Professional-level certification in cloud database engineering, cybersecurity, or relevant DoD-approved credentials OR notable work experience demonstrating equivalent expertise.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or other DoD-compliant cloud environments .
Knowledge of DevSecOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools .
Experience integrating COTS cybersecurity solutions into DoD IT ecosystems .
Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and IT operations in mission-critical defense environments .
