Who We’re Seeking As a Senior Broadcast Design Engineer at Qvest, you’ll lead in designing and deploying advanced media and broadcast systems for clients in the Broadcast industry. You’ll translate complex requirements into scalable solutions, manage system architecture, documentation, and integration across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and clients, you’ll configure and commission subsystems and provide training and technical support. Your expertise in media workflows, broadcast technology, networking, and project execution will be vital in delivering high-performance systems from concept to completion. What You'll Do Lead broadcast and media infrastructure projects, collaborating with clients and internal teams to define requirements, budgets, timelines, and goals Design and implement media technology solutions, including new facility builds and upgrades to the latest broadcast technologies Create and manage detailed design documentation, including schematics, descriptions, rack elevations, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and as-built drawings according to engineering standards Oversee configuration, testing, and commissioning of broadcast and IT subsystems to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability Serve as a technical expert and escalation point, guiding clients through scope clarifications and system optimizations Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution, reporting, and delivery of broadcast solutions Support build activities and coordinate with architects, MEP, and construction teams for facility build-outs Provide project status updates, track tasks, and contribute to resource planning across multiple projects Continuously expand technical expertise through certifications, vendor training, and self-learning Mentor junior engineers What You’ll Bring 12+ years of experience leading M&E technical systems in client-facing roles such as pre-sales engineering, consulting, or managed services Experience at a major broadcasting media company or broadcast systems integrator as an Engineer In-charge, Lead Engineer, or Design Engineer Deep knowledge of industry-standard video formats (HD, UHD, HDR) and IP-based transport methods like SDI, NDI, and SMPTE 2110 Product knowledge and hands-on experience with networking, routing, switching, PCR, Studio, MCR, Audio, Shading, CER, Ingest, etc., from vendors like Cisco, Evertz, Arista, Ross, Imagine GVG, EVS, VizRT, Harmonic, Chyron, Crispin, Telestream, etc. Understanding of media production workflows, including ingest, editing, finishing, delivery, and archiving Experience designing and integrating professional broadcast and AV technologies Knowledge of broadcast networking principles, including routing, switching, VLANs, QoS, DNS, and ACLs Familiarity with broadcast industry tools and infrastructure Ability to interpret architectural and construction drawings and specs Organized approach to data handling, visualization, dashboards, and diagramming Familiarity with virtualization and cloud solutions Proven ability to see projects through from concept to completion Excellent troubleshooting skills Understanding of broadcast orchestration platforms and resource management tools Working knowledge of Windows, Mac, and Linux systems Preferred Experience with operational workflows like Live Production, Studio, News, Playout, OTT, VOD Understanding of Next Gen ATSC 3.0 standard Exposure to major Broadcast Associations (IABM, NAB, SMPTE, SVG, SBE) Salary range: $80,000 - $400,000 annually Life at Qvest We foster a culture of collaboration and inclusiveness, offering benefits like medical, dental, vision, 401k matching, flexible vacations, and training opportunities.
