Full-time / Onsite (5 days/week)

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Mochi Health, you'll be responsible for the core systems and data channels that facilitate a world-class experience for our customers, pharmacy technicians and many more team members who interface with our proprietary platform each and every day. You will work with talented engineers, building out cutting-edge systems from Machine Learning path finding algorithms to hand-crafted video encoding protocols, all in service of providing deeper capabilities and insights to the customer experience. Take advantage of developments in artificial intelligence to bring innovative and exciting new features to our customers. These are just a few of the intriguing challenges you might be faced with at Mochi Health.

• Lead the development, optimization and expansion of our core backend services. (Node/Express)
• Drive best practices in performance, security, and scalability as we scale rapidly over the next 6/12 months.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design and Frontend teams to deliver seamless, intuitive user experiences.
• Own key architectural decisions, mentoring engineers, and elevating back-end excellence across the company.
• Build out data-driven services and systems to bolster the customer experience.
• Influence engineering culture, fostering innovation and technical ownership within the team.

• 7+ years of back-end development experience, with deep expertise with Javascript/Typescript, as well as some exposure to Kotlin/Swift.
• Experience leading technical initiatives and shipping scalable, high-performance systems to support web and mobile applications.
• Strong knowledge of modern back-end tooling. (TypeScript, ESLint, CI/CD pipelines)
• A passion for creating fast, optimized and elegant solutions to difficult problems.
• Familiarity with machine learning algorithms, and general low level development.
• Startup mindset: you thrive in fast-moving environments, take ownership, and love solving problems at scale.
• Bonus: Experience with WebSockets, real-time data, compiled code languages, or healthcare-related applications.

The base salary for this full-time position ranges from $250,000 to $300,000, in addition to equity and benefits. The salary range listed in each job posting represents the minimum and maximum targets for new hire salaries across all locations. Actual compensation within this range is determined by various factors, such as job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and location.
