Role Overview: As a pivotal member of our security team, you will help shape our security strategy for both on-premises solutions and cloud services. Your mission will be to embed security throughout the product lifecycle—from design to operational execution—and partner with product and engineering teams to safeguard against both existing and emerging threats. You will also play a key role in promoting a culture of security awareness across the organization. Key Responsibilities: Drive application security efforts by collaborating with various stakeholders. Stay updated on new security vulnerabilities and conduct relevance assessments. Engage in security threat modeling and design reviews, offering secure design guidance. Conduct product-specific security reviews, including penetration testing and API security assessments. Enhance security automation through developing and utilizing software security tools. Design and deploy comprehensive security solutions to secure our cloud applications. Identify and implement additional technology controls for improved visibility and protection against attacks. Qualifications: A data-driven mindset with 4+ years of relevant experience in application security. Strong understanding of Web Application Security and Cloud Security fundamentals. Experience with software development stacks and CI/CD systems. Proficient in coding for automation and security testing in languages like GoLang, Python, or Java. Proven ability to collaborate with distributed teams and cross-functional stakeholders. Effective decision-maker, capable of operating autonomously while managing multiple initiatives. Why Confluent?
