Join us at Project Kuiper, an exciting initiative aimed at launching a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide high-speed, low-latency broadband network connectivity to underserved communities globally. If you're passionate about securing advanced satellite-based broadband telecom services, we invite you to be a part of our Kuiper Security team. We are responsible for the end-to-end security of product and operational aspects of Project Kuiper.
In this dynamic startup-like environment, supported by Amazon's robust infrastructure, your role will be crucial in implementing innovative security mechanisms and cultivating a strong security culture within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish product-specific security standards, threat models, and security priorities.
Identify and address design and implementation defects.
Provide consultation on challenging security decisions, collaborating with business leaders to set security priorities.
Act as a trusted advisor to product leaders, facilitating security execution.
Guide teams towards solutions that prioritize security by default.
Lead efforts to reduce long-term risk and improve overall security practices.
Collaborate with builder teams to assess technical debt and risk, offering strategic solutions to vulnerabilities.
Advocate for the enhancement of testing tools and detection mechanisms.
Support Red Teams in identifying security testing priorities and scoping penetration tests.
Research and investigate emerging security issues, identifying root causes and suggesting preventative mechanisms.
A typical day will involve you balancing proactive and reactive tasks, answering inquiries related to various security challenges, and evaluating organizational performance to identify architectural defects. You will help Amazon maintain high standards for customer security.
About You:
You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or possess equivalent work experience.
You have over 5 years of experience delivering security software in production environments.
You possess at least 3 years of experience developing distributed software systems in languages such as Python, Java, Rust, GoLang, or C/C++.
You are experienced in cloud-native environments and Linux.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in conducting technical security assessments and strong analytical skills.
A Master's degree with a focus on information security.
Hands-on experience with satellite communications and embedded systems.
