Purpose: Provide inside sales support, project management and technical support for the Building Acoustics Market Group and the outside sales force.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Shop Drawing & Design Coordination

  • Gather information required for executing shop/submittal drawings
  • Identify and help resolve constructability issues
  • Create product application solutions for atypical AEC conditions
  • Coordinate with Engineering as required to address project issues
  • Coordinate project deadlines and priorities to ensure the most important projects are done first
  • Coordinate as needed with architects, engineers, consultants & contractors on the project team
  • Review and redline shop drawings
  • Help maintain project documentation

Sales Support

  • Provide marketing and technical support for our nationwide sales force, architects and contractors.
  • Identify and communicate questions and issues about new projects or product solutions
  • Provide product information and pricing as needed
  • Communicate with company sales representatives and, whenever needed, their clients to ensure that RFIs, installation issues, and related matters are properly, quickly, and satisfactorily addressed.
  • Provide custom product or project specific quotes as required
  • Maintain and follow up on Project and Specification Pipeline Database
  • Manage sales lead database and communications
  • Help maintain sales forecast reports
  • Occasionally assist in manufacturer’s representative training, trade shows, and seminars
  • Assist in training sales representatives on how to apply Kinetics’ product solutions for ceilings, floors, and wall noise control applications

Any additional duties assigned by Building Acoustics Director of Sales.

Supervision:

Received:

Generally, works independently within accepted guidelines and project assignments. Receives occasional specific supervision.

Given:

No direct supervisory responsibilities. May assist in training new or transferred employees.

Education/Experience:

Four-year college degree preferred, and 1-2 years’ experience required. Experience with computers and ability to use Microsoft Office products as required. Education in Acoustical Engineering or related disciplines is a preferred. Familiarity with basic construction practices and interpreting bid/contract documents is a plus. Experience in sales, sales support, and customer service to architectural and construction businesses a plus.

Communication Skills/Requirements:

Able to communicate verbally and/or in writing as to work requirements, work in progress, and discrepancy issues. Interacts verbally and in writing with other employees, members of management, customers, and others as necessary. Telephone and personal contact is necessary. Must demonstrate tact, diplomacy, professionalism, and positive demeanor in performance of duties.

Reasoning Abilities:

Able to follow instructions and/or directions requiring normal to extended periods of concentration. Requires ability to follow a course/sequence of action within specified procedures and to logically think through error issues to resolve or contact appropriate source. Must maintain normal mental alertness to accurate completion of essential job responsibilities. Must be able to organize work to ensure attention to detail and follow through.

Travel:

Occasional domestic and international travel via automobile or airplane, as needed. Travel expected to be less than 10% of total work time. Overnight travel may be required in some cases.

Licenses/Certifications/Credit Cards:

Valid driver’s license with good driving record and current full-coverage automobile insurance; must have the ability or resources to obtain a personal credit card for business purposes, as needed. Passport will be required for international travel, as needed.

Physical Demands:

Routine physical demands for office environment. Operates personal computer, copier, facsimile machine, printer, calculator, telephone. Some prolonged periods of sitting may be required. Occasional lifting of boxes (up to 25 pounds) may be required as needed.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routine uses standard office equipment. Exposed to minimal hazards.

Additional Information:

Work Location: Corporate facility Dublin, OH. Working Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or more if required to meet deadlines. Must be reliable. Generally responsible for the safety of own work area. A hybrid work location schedule may be allowed based on established guidelines.
