Rotor System Engineering Manager

We are seeking an experienced Rotor Systems Engineer to step into a key leadership role as our Rotor System Engineering Manager. In this position, you will lead all engineering efforts related to rotor control components, assemblies, and systems across multiple aircraft programs. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage engineering activities for rotor control components, assemblies, and full systems across all aircraft platforms.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Drive Systems, Flight Sciences, Airframe, Flight Controls, and the Chief Engineer to support rotor blade, hub, and control system development.
  • Coordinate efforts with aerodynamicists, structural analysts, and dynamicists to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Direct the development of technical specifications, component design, analysis, and 2D/3D engineering documentation.
  • Oversee the entire rotor system design lifecyclefrom conceptual design through prototyping, testing, and evaluation.
  • Provide technical leadership to internal teams and external suppliers, ensuring alignment with program goals and performance requirements.
  • Manage and guide test planning, execution, and data analysis for rotor systems.
  • Lead DFMEA processes to ensure safety, reliability, and performance of all rotor-related components.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required; Masters degree preferred.
  • Experience: 15+ years of hands-on experience in rotor system design and analysis for rotary-wing aircraft.
  • Expertise in solid modeling tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA V5/V6, or 3DEXPERIENCE.
  • Strong foundation in rotor system stress analysis, conceptual design, and structural integration.
  • Demonstrated success translating Tier 0 air vehicle requirements into detailed Tier 1 rotor system solutions.
  • Deep experience with rotary-wing and/or tiltrotor systems.
  • Solid knowledge of rotorcraft aerodynamics and dynamics.
  • Familiarity with ground, flight, and Iron Bird testing for rotor systems.
  • Understanding of PLM systems such as SolidWorks PDM and 3DEXPERIENCE.
  • Working knowledge of rotor materials and manufacturing processes (e.g., composite blades, elastomeric bearings, forged/machined parts).
  • Security: Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
