Structural Engineer (Telecom)
Location: Fully Remote
We are seeking a Structural Engineer (Telecom) to support the design and structural analysis of communication structures for wireless telecommunication sites. This role will focus on new and existing infrastructure, including towers, buildings, foundations, and rooftops, as well as custom solutions such as elevated steel platforms and antenna mounting frames.
This position may begin as part-time depending on workload but is expected to transition to full-time as project demands increase.
Key Responsibilities
Perform structural analysis and design for towers, water tanks, rooftops, and foundation structures using hand calculations and industry-standard software (e.g., RISA 3D, TNX Tower).
Develop reinforcing and extension solutions to meet project and regulatory requirements.
Conform designs to local jurisdictional requirements for land use and permitting.
Coordinate timelines and milestones with engineering teams, drafters, site acquisition specialists, and construction personnel.
Modify and refine designs during projects to improve functionality and efficiency.
Conduct site visits as needed to document field conditions for new builds and modification projects.
Ensure accurate project status reporting and assist with project planning.
Engage with clients as needed to support project goals.
Qualifications
Required:
BS or MS in Civil or Structural Engineering (PE license preferred).
3–5 years of related structural engineering experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and functional to proficient use of AutoCAD.
Knowledge of ASD & LRFD design methods, as well as TIA-G and TIA-H codes.
Experience with structural design software such as RISA, TnxTower, OCALC, and ENERCALC.
Eligible to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.
Preferred:
Experience designing wireless telecommunication sites, including collocations on existing towers, water tanks, rooftops, and raw land sites.
Background in right-of-way projects, small cell projects, or wireless/fiber telecom work.
