PositionOverview: Under the general direction of the Director of Reliability, theReliability Engineer will provide advanced knowledge and technical expertise todeploy continuous improvement in process and asset reliability through thedetection and elimination of defects. This role will partner with andsupport Operations and Maintenance through identification and reduction and/orelimination of production losses and high maintenance cost assets to promoteplant objectives in the areas of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE), assetcapability, quality, and production. The Reliability Engineer role willfocus on the longer-term (2+ years) strategic implementation of plant assetreliability improvements. What you will be doing: Lead the development, design and installation of predictive maintenanceprograms and technology applications to identify dominant deterioration andfailure modes, causes/effects of deterioration, and corrective actions requiredto eliminate defects. Analyze maintenance data to identify trends in equipment performance thatadversely affect -Safety, Overall Equipment Effectiveness, or costs toestablish an “Equipment Top 10 List” that will become the primary focus ofdriving improved reliability. You will drivethe development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as AssetUtilization, MTBF, On-Stream Time (OST), and benchmark performance againstbest-in-class, track progress, and measure improvements. Conduct analysis/investigations and provide leadership to others in FailureMode & Effects --Analysis & Root Cause Analysis on equipment failuresthat significantly affect Safety, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), orcosts. Ensure the results from this analysis become the basis for the applicableEquipment Maintenance Strategies. Manage the plant Mechanical Integrity (MI) Program and ensure that all requiredtesting and new work follows state and federal code requirements, as well asEco Services’ expectations and Best Practices. This role must close gapsidentified quickly to drive compliance and long-term value. Ensure MI inspection data is set up accurately in the new GE-APM database, andensure it is analyzed, documented, deficiencies are communicated effectively,and actions are identified. Perform PM Optimization reviews to ensure the Equipment Strategies will preventpremature failures of plant equipment. Work with Subject Matter Experts on the development of Reliability,Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) models. Learn the technology and takeownership for maintaining these models to help with forecasting plant on-stream availability or identifying where the greatest risk of failure exists based onhistorical plant failure data. Developstrategies to reduce these risks that may involve adding redundancy, changingPM frequencies, increasing spare parts availability, etc. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university or equivalentcombination of education and experience. Mechanical engineeringpreferred. Min of 3+ years of relevant maintenance and reliability experience, preferablyin a chemical, petrochemical, or refinery production plant with emphasis onimplementing preventive and predictive maintenance techniques. Occasional travel (<10%) API and ASME Codes and Standards/Failure Modes & Effects Analysis Formal Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) training/certification Proven analytical troubleshooting/problem-solving skills; able to apply them toassess and improve equipment reliability. Detail oriented, data-based decision maker. Strong, clear, and concise communication (written and verbal). Competent computer skills with working knowledge of MS Office programs anddatabases plus SAP experience Team player able to build productive and positive working relationships with cross-functionalteams. Ability to handle multiple competing activities/projects simultaneously. Works well under pressure – ability to meet tight deadlines with qualityresults.
