Nesco Data Center and Infrastructure is seeking a Data Center Engineer with Cooling Equipment expertise in the Austin, TX area. Job Title: Data Center Mechanical/Electrical Engineer (Cooling Systems) Type: Contract (6 weeks to 6 months) with potential direct hire based on performance and synergy with client team. Key Responsibilities: Perform installation and post-sale support for custom cooling cabinets in data centers.
Perform break-fix work on coils, fans, chilling hoses, and other cooling system hardware.
Troubleshoot airflow and cooling performance issues.
Work from mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, or verbal instructions.
Travel to other data center sites as needed, particularly higher-volume locations.
Attend initial training (3–5 days) at a designated facility, with all travel costs covered.
Qualifications: Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to work on coils, fans, and custom cooling hardware.
Knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems and part-swapping procedures.
Skilled with tools and mechanical disassembly/reassembly.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to travel for training and occasional site visits.
Preferred Experience: Prior work in data centers, critical facilities, or large-scale mechanical/electrical environments.
Experience with custom-fabricated mechanical systems.
