Job Summary:The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products meet quality standards by assisting in the planning, development, implementation, communication, and maintenance of the companys quality management systems, policies, documentation, data, and customer specific requirements. The Quality Engineer continuously improve processes and product quality by investigating quality issues, collecting and analyzing data on products and processes to identify areas for improvement then implement the appropriate corrective actions.Job Responsibilities:Create and maintain inspection plans, procedures, instructions, and other documents for quality assurance purposes.Prepare FAIR, Certificate of Compliance data package, and reports as required.Conduct root cause analysis for nonconformances and implement appropriate mitigating actions.Manage and organize the companys documents and records, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and regulations.Develop training documents and conduct training to ensure competency.Perform internal audits on processes and products.Identify areas for improvement, then develop and implement appropriate corrective measures to enhance product quality and processes.Collect, maintain, and analyze data to assess process capabilities and ensure quality objectives/KPIs are being met.Visit suppliers sites, conduct supplier audits, and assist Operations with supplier management as needed.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in engineering or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered2 3 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.Ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement appropriate mitigation actions.Ability to work independently and in teams with minimal supervision.Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).Excellent organizational skills.Excellent attention to detail.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Preferred Qualifications:Professional certification, such as Six Sigma, LEAN Principles, AS9100 Internal Auditor, Certified Quality Engineer.Experience with FAIR (AS9102) and CoC preparation.Supplier quality experience, including remote audits and incoming & outgoing inspection plansWork experience in the aerospace/space industry.Experience in working with inspection equipment and tools.Familiarity with PFMEA or DFMEA and APQP/PPAPAmerican Motion Systems (AMS) is an American company dedicated to designing and manufacturing high-performance motors and motion control products for critical applications in SPACE, DEFENSE, and FRACKING industries.
