Whisker is based in Auburn Hills, Michigan and Juneau, Wisconsin with 700+ passionate team members. We work in person 4+ days a week.
What You’ll Do:
The Quality Engineer ensures incoming parts and materials meet Whisker’s quality standards, minimizes supplier-related defects, and maintains operational efficiency through effective root cause analysis, corrective actions, and inventory management. This position is critical to maintaining supplier partnerships and ensuring production runs smoothly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides technical advice and guidance to Manufacturing, Engineering, and other internal stakeholders in order to reduce defect rates
Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
Ensures the appropriate quality plans are developed, implemented, and followed
Develops and administers quality-related project plans and schedules
Provides technical advice and guidance to suppliers in order to reduce defect rates
Leads internal problem solving activities (CAPA, 8-D, A3, DMAIC, etc.) related to non-conformances identified in the plant.
Creates and executes internal Qualification / Validation documentation
Responsible for performing quality engineering tasks in a timely fashion:
Assessing quality plans and production process designs
Reviewing production test and other performance data
Analyses of production and distribution Quality Data
Conducting Root Cause Analysis
Performs independent technical assessment on production and distribution product quality and performance.
Works with Design Team / Product Engineers / Quality Manager to understand and create quality control objectives
Supports risk management activities, product failure rate and reliability estimations
Partners with other key functional areas (Production, Distribution, Engineering, Supply Chain, etc.) to provide hands-on support and issue resolution.
Will perform additional responsibilities when required
Requirements:
What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline, engineering highly preferred or equivalent experience.
Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced environment with numerous interactions and interruptions
High degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to motivate others
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with team members and colleagues
Experience independently producing and completing quality engineering documents
Experience working on issues of diverse scope where analysis of a situation or of data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends
Experience managing quality engineering milestones for 3-5 new products per year
Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
Comfortable with office pets (cats, dogs)
Not Required but Nice to Have!
Quality Engineering experience in a high-volume production environment, preferably within consumer electronics
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Reliability Engineer
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
Not required to have pets, but highly recommended!
Previous experience in plastic injection molding and printed circuit board manufacturing
