Quality Engineer

Job Summary:
Emerald Technologies is seeking a quality-focused professional to lead cross-functional efforts in ensuring product excellence throughout the lifecycle. This role involves driving root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate across departments to reduce defects and customer complaints.
Lead and document corrective actions using structed problem-solving (e.g., 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone).
Investigate and resolve nonconforming materials and support MRB activities.
Respond quickly to production floor issues to minimize downtime.
Support new product introductions and ensure readiness for production.
Train and clarify staff in IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001, including Space Addendum).
Assist in developing clear, effective work instructions aligned with IPC requirements.
Communicate with customers and suppliers to resolve quality concerns and drive improvements.
Maintain SOPs and records related to quality processes, training, and corrective actions.
Analyze defect trends to identify and implement proactive quality improvements.
Participate in material disposition and purge activities as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a comparable degree within manufacturing or engineering. (Preferred)
5–7 years of experience in a quality or engineering role in manufacturing.
CIT in IPC-A-610 and/or IPC-J-STD-001. (Preferred)
Knowledge of statistical methods.
Knowledge of root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Programs.
Capable of performance in high-demand situations.
Demonstrated fair, and ethical behaviors.
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
