About the Role The Quality Engineer position is a key contributor to maintaining and improving manufacturing quality systems in a metal fabrication environment. This role supports process improvement, ensures compliance with ISO standards, and drives root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Located in Rothschild, WI, this position offers hands-on involvement with quality control processes, supplier quality, and production support. Responsibilities: Develop and implement quality assurance protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and customer-specific requirements Monitor manufacturing processes and perform inspections to identify defects or deviations Lead root cause analysis and corrective action investigations using tools such as 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Whys Analyze quality data and generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, and supply chain to resolve quality-related issues Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and coordinating activities Manage non-conformance reports and follow up with suppliers or internal teams for resolution Maintain calibration schedules and ensure accuracy of measurement tools and equipment Conduct process capability studies and implement continuous improvement initiatives Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS) and ISO 9001 standards Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and measurement system analysis (MSA) Familiarity with corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality software tools such as Minitab Desired Qualifications: Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) through ASQ Experience with metal fabrication or welding operations Familiarity with GD&T and precision measurement equipment Knowledge of APQP, FMEA, and PPAP processes Experience with ERP systems and quality modules
