Position Responsibilities: Lead testing efforts for large-scale systems. Create comprehensive test plans and test cases while driving continuous improvements to our quality assurance processes. Utilize Internet and Web technologies such as Apache, HTTP, XML, HTML, Load Balancing, and DNS. Develop tests using Java and Shell Scripts within a Linux environment. Document and coordinate the deployment of both manual and automated tests for complex systems. Test mobile device development kits and frameworks with a strong focus on user interface quality. Design and build automated test cases utilizing test automation frameworks like VNC Robot and Java. Conduct both white box and black box tests to assure the functionality of large-scale, distributed software systems. Collaborate closely with engineers, business owners, and customer service professionals throughout the testing lifecycle, from requirements gathering to design and execution. Provide consultative insights to project management and development teams regarding technical aspects of testing procedures. Utilize functional specifications to plan, create, or sign off on test plans and cases. Deliver regular and detailed status reports on projects, including executed test cases, discovered bugs, and resolutions. Work Hours: 40 hours/week, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Salary: The salary range is $133,432 to $185,000 per year. Amazon is committed to total compensation that includes equity, sign-on payments, and comprehensive benefits. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, plus one year of relevant experience; or three years of experience in a related role as a substitute for the degree. Experience in developing tests for large-scale software systems using Java or Shell Scripts in a Windows, UNIX, or Linux environment. Experience documenting and coordinating the deployment of manual and automated tests for complex systems.
