Position Summary We are seeking a skilled Python Data Engineer to support the growth of our data infrastructure and analytics capabilities. This individual will work closely with internal stakeholders, including traders, analysts, and data scientists, to deliver efficient, scalable solutions for data ingestion, processing, and integration. Key Responsibilities Design and develop reusable components to bridge external data sources with internal tools and databases Collaborate with business users to gather data requirements and implement technical solutions that meet their needs Translate complex business requirements into production-ready technical implementations Maintain a clean and centralized codebase, adhering to established design patterns and coding standards Contribute to the development and refinement of internal Python-based ETL tools and libraries Standardize and consolidate core functionality across data pipelines Work efficiently with a global development team and participate in internal Python developer community efforts Support business development efforts by delivering timely and high-quality data solutions Required Qualifications 7 years of experience developing enterprise-grade solutions using Python Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field Hands-on experience with data engineering, ETL processes, and building data pipelines Proficient in web scraping tools such as Requests, BeautifulSoup, Selenium, etc. Strong experience with Oracle/PL SQL, including stored procedures Solid understanding of object-oriented design, software architecture, and service-oriented systems Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment Familiarity with code versioning, peer code reviews, and issue tracking tools Experience using Pandas, NumPy, and other scientific computing libraries Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications Background in commodities or energy markets Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization tools Work Environment This role is based in a professional office setting in Houston, TX, and requires full-time, in-person attendance.
