Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise.

What you'll do:
Create 3D models of aircraft components, to include both metallic and composite structures
Generate laminate definitions for composite components
Create 2D drawings of structures to support manufacturing and procurement, to include geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
Perform tolerance stack-ups of assemblies to ensure fit and performance
Generate bill of materials as required for the program and ensure accuracy
Release drawings, models, and documentation through configuration management tools
Set up program architecture for drawing management and release
Ensure any designs comply with company specifications and meet programs requirements
Perform design reviews, provide technical input related to propeller systems, and participate in drawing release process
Establish and enforce best practices for critical composite aerospace components
Support program needs for conceptual design layouts and trade studies
What you need: Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field
5+ years of experience in design of composite components, including proficiency in surfacing
Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret CAD models
Knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards
Ability to perform tolerance stack-ups
Understanding of common aerospace materials and fabrication techniques
Familiarity with common aerospace standards (NAS, MS, MIL-STD, AS9100)
Experience working with PLM systems (ENOVIA, Teamcenter)
Bonus Qualifications: Master's or PhD in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field
12+ years of experience in design of composite aerospace components
Knowledge of design requirements to meet FAA certification for propellers or rotorcraft
Proficiency in CAD packages specific to composites (FiberSIM, CATIA Composite Design)
Knowledge of common manufacturing methods for composite structures
This position will require travel up to 15% to Archer facilities or supplier facilities.

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company's business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $134,400.00 - $168,000.00. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
