Are you passionate about shaping the future of water infrastructure through advanced hydraulic modeling and innovative design? We’re seeking a Project Engineer II – Hydraulic Modeler to join a thriving Water/Wastewater Engineering team tackling major sewer and water system challenges across the Mid-Atlantic region.

In this leadership role, you'll dive into impactful infrastructure projects, mentor design staff, and collaborate with a highly experienced team on modeling, analysis, and system optimization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and execution of hydraulic modeling projects for water, wastewater, and stormwater systems
  • Calibrate and maintain complex models using software such as InfoWorks, WaterGEMS, XPSWMM, KY Pipe, and more
  • Perform transient analyses, system planning, performance assessment, and problem-solving for future infrastructure needs
  • Coordinate project schedules, budgets, QA/QC, and deliverables
  • Prepare design computations, technical reports, and cost estimates
  • Support project manager with scope development, proposal writing, and client communication
  • Mentor junior engineers and delegate modeling tasks effectively
  • Present findings, lead internal/external reviews, and support client meetings
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • 8–10+ years of relevant experience in water/wastewater modeling
  • Proficient with hydraulic modeling, transient analyses, data management, and tools like:
    • InfoWorks
    • WaterGEMS
    • XPSWMM, PCSWMM
    • KY Pipe, EPA-SWMM
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office
  • Strong report writing and communication skills
  • Experience with hydraulic designs, sewer rehabilitation, water and sewer design, and engineering economics
Preferred But Not Required:
  • Experience with county/state-level clients in the Mid-Atlantic
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants
