Project Engineer, General Contracting

The Project Engineer provides technical support for the engineering process and contributes to the completion of a project. Performs engineering design evaluations and works to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints. Reviews reports of production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine or address problems. Analyzes project requirements and performs standard technical calculations. Some regional travel may be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Compiles and organizes daily safety paperwork and permitting from each subcontractor on site.
- Works with management team to create agendas and compile minutes for weekly subcontractor progress meetings.
- Inventory and tracks material deliveries and materials stored on site.
- Contacts vendors to update lead times and receive material quotes.
- Works with management team to conduct subcontractor drawing audits.
- Participates in jobsite safety audits.
- Works with management team to perform weekly schedule updates and subcontractor progress reporting.
- Adheres to all quality policies and procedures as outlined by E&W and the customer
- Meets contractual conditions of performance
- Reviews the work progress on daily basis
- Prepares internal and external reports pertaining to job status
- Plans ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
- Obtains permits and licenses as required
- Analyzes, manages and mitigates risks
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Good communication, organization, and time management skills
- Must be a self-starter, self-motivated, and customer-focused.
- Proven working experience in construction project management
- Knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
- Knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
- Good understanding of the facets of the construction process
- Familiarity with construction management software packages
- Ability to plan and see the "big picture"
- Competent in conflict and crisis management
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Ability to work as part of a goal-oriented team
