About the job you’re considering The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting Systems Engineering and Requirements Engineering activities for our clients. To be effective in this position, you must feel comfortable creating and updating. validating and reviewing requirements and other systems engineering artifacts for complex aerospace systems and in leveraging, assessing and deploying applicable methods, standards and tools.
Your role
• Requirements Definition & Management: o Developing and maintaining the body of knowledge related to needs and requirements across all system engineering lifecycle process activities. o Eliciting, documenting, analyzing, and managing stakeholder needs and requirements. o Transforming needs into clear, unambiguous, and measurable stakeholder and system requirements. o Managing changes to requirements and maintaining traceability throughout the project lifecycle. o Regularly review and report on requirements status and maturity, and prepare data sets and documentation for milestones reviews.
• Analysis and Definition: o Preparing for and managing business or mission analysis. o Defining the problem and opportunity space; running functional analysis. o Evaluating alternative solution classes. o Analyzing stakeholder and system requirements.
• Verification and Validation: o Communicating the relationship of needs and requirements to other systems engineering activities and artifacts. o Participating in verification and validation activities to ensure the system meets specified requirements. o • Collaboration & Communication: o Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, design engineers, test engineers, and project managers. o Effectively communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of requirements. o Interfacing with customers and government representatives.
• Standards & Processes: o Promoting best practices associated with needs, requirements, verification, and validation and facilitate implementation of lessons learned to improve efficiency in the day-to-day activities. o Working with leaders to ensure projects meet their needs. o Supporting the shift from document-centric to data-centric practices in systems engineering, also by coaching and training other systems engineers.
Your skills and experience
o Experience with systems engineering processes, including requirements development, allocation, change management, verification, and validation. o Proficiency in requirements database tools (e.g., DOORS, DOORS NG, Jama). o Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) for architecture to requirements traceability and interface development is highly desired. Proficiency in MBSE tools (eg Cameo) o Experience with relevant modelling languages and frameworks (e.g. SysML) highly desired. o Understanding of INCOSE guidelines for writing requirements. Systems Engineering certifications (e.g. INCOSE xSEP, OMG(OCSMP), or IREB) desired. o Knowledge of system architecture and design principles.
• Domain Technical Skills o 3+ years Domain Expertise in a relevant Aerospace Engineering Domain. Please denote ATA chapter. o Experience with CS/FAR part 25 and applicable standards (eg. ARP4754, DO-178, DO-254).
