As the Production Engineer / Process Engineer you will become the technical expert for the chemicals business. You will maintain first-time quality, develop process improvements and support the day-to-day activities. In addition, you will coach and develop the Team to foster a safe -quality-focused culture with an emphasis on Continuous Improvement. This position reports to the Production Team Leader. DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES Ø Directs and monitors productivity, process yields, and product and process performance to meet production commitments. Ø Determines continuous improvement opportunities and implements improvements in the production units to optimize utilization (throughput, quality, safety, efficiency). Ø Develops, plans, and coordinates projects from inception to completion ensuring efficient implementation, timely completion, and compliance to budget. Ø System Manager for DCS (Digital Control system) platforms and PIMS (Production Information Management System) data analysis package. Ø Responsible for evaluation, selection, installation, programming, and service of new DCS equipment. Ø Supervise Production Operators in the Production Team Leader’s absence. Ø Train and develop operators in assigned activities and assists with technical issues. REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS Ø Bachelor’s Chemical Engineering with 3+ years of experience working in a chemical manufacturing plant. Ø Significant working experience as a Process/Production Engineer or similar. Ø Working knowledge of Process Controls System. Ø Experience with or working knowledge of the following preferred; SAP; controls systems such as Honeywell or Allan Bradley; OE (Operational Excellence).
