The Sr. Technical Advisor – Process, Upstream O&G is recognized by peers and industry as an expert in all process engineering activities related to executing grassroots or revamp engineering projects in upstream oil and gas onshore/offshore production facility design.The candidate should be able to work as part of a team, lead small to medium size projects, areas within larger projects and eventually lead large projects.Responsibilities include leading others in the development of heat and material balances using process simulation software, process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs); fluid hydraulic calculations to generate process data for in-line instruments and loads for rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors and turbines; determine system design pressures; design relief valves and relief systems including flare headers. The responsibilities also extend to establishing budgets and schedules for projects and participation in client meetings, proposals, and presentations which may involve traveling on business assignments worldwide.The candidate must be well versed in applicable industry standard design codes (ASME, ANSI, API, etc.). The successful candidate for this position enjoys working with people and has the majority of their experience with a major EPC company and not at a production facility.Although not a requirement, applicants for this position will usually hold a certification as a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer. Requirements for this position include a bachelors or masters degree in chemical engineering and a minimum of twenty (20) years related experience, with an average of more than twenty five (25+) years experience.
