SLR is seeking a Principal Traffic Signal/ITS Lead to serve as an integral part of our team in Connecticut. The candidate will supervise a team of signal designers and manage a wide range of traffic engineering projects in Connecticut and New England.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team of experienced licensed engineers, landscape architects, planners, scientists, and other professional staff that will be supportive of their growth and development. They will also collaborate on exciting and significant projects using interactive and engaging tools to deliver quality work that has a positive and lasting impact on the communities in which we work.

• Supervise the signal design team • Help grow the traffic signal design/ITS practice at SLR • Manage various traffic engineering and signal design projects • Provide senior oversight on projects and serve as a technical resource • Business development with public and private sector clients • Prepare contract documents, including plans, specifications, and estimates • Perform quality review of design plans and contract documents • Participate in meetings with clients and project team members
Qualifications/Education/Memberships:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering • Minimum 15 years' experience in the field of Transportation Engineering • Licensed Professional Engineer (CT preferred or ability to get reciprocity) • Project management experience • Business development experience • Experience on DOT projects in the region
