Principal Systems Engineer (Windows)
As a Principal System Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and deploy high-level system solutions. Leveraging your deep expertise in Azure, Microsoft 365, Endpoint Management, Identity & Access Management, and on-premises infrastructure, you will develop secure, scalable, and cost-effective systems aligned with business objectives.
The company is located in Reston, VA and will be 5 days onsite a week.
What You Will Be Doing:
Develop and refine processes and procedures to support system engineering initiatives.
Design sophisticated systems and components that align with enterprise needs and strategies.
Perform impact analyses of proposed designs, recommend optimal solutions, and proactively manage associated risks.
Create and specify prototypes to support strategic decision-making.
Contribute to the development and implementation of system design policies, architecture standards, and best practices.
Conduct rigorous system-level testing to validate performance and ensure compliance with all technical and functional requirements.
Define and promote technical principles for infrastructure and system engineering.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues, providing innovative solutions to highly technical challenges.
Lead the implementation of complex systems independently and partner with Enterprise Architects on more advanced architecture efforts.
Communicate technical concepts clearly across all levels of the organization, inspiring and motivating team members.
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and technical leads to advance enterprise-wide technology strategies.
Provide mentorship and technical direction to Senior System Engineers, promoting engineering excellence.
Assess system designs to ensure compliance with established standards and initiate corrective measures as needed.
Lead technical design reviews to maintain alignment with system engineering goals and milestones.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of standards, templates, and components, incorporating feedback from the Architecture Review Board.
Required Skills & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related discipline (preferred).
7+ years of relevant professional experience in systems engineering or related fields.
Strong knowledge of system architecture, requirements analysis, systems integration, and end-to-end testing methodologies.
Familiarity with industry regulations, compliance standards, and engineering best practices.
Relevant certifications in systems engineering, cloud technologies (e.g., Microsoft Azure), or related fields are preferred.
