Principal Software Engineer (Synthesis & Optimization)

This R&D position is part of the Synthesis and Optimization group of Cadences flagship product, Innovus. This group is responsible for developing new logical and physical optimizations to meet design PPA targets, including timing, area, power, and congestion.
We seek talented candidates with expertise in C++, gdb debugging, multi-threaded frameworks, and general software development skills, with a strong background in electronic design automation (Logic Optimization, Power/Timing Optimization, or Physical Optimization is a plus). Experience working on large-scale software products is required. A solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and systems architecture is essential.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum years of industry experience: PhD + 1 year or MS + 3 years
C/C++ software development experience in Linux environment
Knowledge of physical synthesis algorithms; physical optimization experience is a plus
Prior R&D experience with EDA/IC physical design tools is advantageous
Hands-on experience with physical design tools for design closure and flow knowledge is beneficial
The annual salary range for California is $136,500 to $253,500, with potential incentive compensation including bonuses, equity, and benefits. Compensation varies based on qualifications, skills, and location.
