Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector has an opening for a Principal Network Communications Engineer (level 3) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located in Georgia, USA.
As the Principal Network Communications Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will maintain smooth operation of Information System Hardware and Software.
Your duties include:
Plan, evaluate, and coordinate installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of several integrated and specialized information systems.
Maintain technical expertise in all areas of information systems hardware/software, radio frequency and SATCOM communications systems, and interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
May propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.
Prepare documentation or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including maintenance documentation and instructions.
Provide regular monitoring and analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
Ensure secure movement of information across a multi-classification level computing environment.
May coordinate third-party maintenance for equipment.
Support integration and provide engineering feedback on effectiveness of system upgrades and modifications.
May design systems or portions of systems that include selection of hardware and software packages.
Basic Qualifications Must have a High School diploma or equivalent and at least 9 years of relevant Network Communications/Administration experience; or an Associates Degree and at least 7 years of relevant Network Communications/Administration experience; or a Bachelors in Science and at least 5 years of Network Communications/Administration experience; or a Masters and at least 3 years of relevant Network Communications/Administration experience; or a Ph.D. with some relevant Network Communications/Administration experience.
Must have or be able to obtain Security Plus (Sec+) Certification within 6 months of hire.
Must be able to complete initial qualification training within 365 days from program access and show continuous progress throughout the training program.
Must be willing/able to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days- a-week, and 365 days a year.
Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

Salary and Benefits Salary Range: $91,200.00 - $136,800.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
