Cloud Automation, Governance And Engineering (CAGE) - Principal Engineer The Principal Engineer-Automation will possess effective interpersonal soft skills, thought leadership, and team growth abilities. They will provide engineering and architecture support for complex system management activities related to network segmentation, cloud services, performance, problem determination, or resource management. This requires communication and coordination with vendors, technicians, clients, and management. The role includes providing technical input to management decision-making in the areas of software, services, and performance. This role will coach and provide technical expertise to members of the core cloud team and development teams leveraging tooling. It is expected to embed within development teams to coach and up-skill on pipeline creation, Terraform best practices, and usage of standard modules. The role will facilitate collaboration across security, networking, enterprise architecture, and automation functions. The engineer will actively seek and research new technologies, emerging trends, and best practices to aid development and enable innovation. Additionally, the role involves contributing to and facilitating enterprise trainings to build core cloud skills. The candidate should have knowledge of AWS, Azure, and GCP implementations, including IT control and Agile project management practices across large environments. Experience with public cloud solutions, APIs, Automation and Orchestration frameworks, Infrastructure as Code modules using Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible, Python, DevSecOps tooling (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins), Kubernetes (EKS, Fargate, ECS, OpenShift), and strong network & firewall troubleshooting and cloud networking design and implementation skills are required. Position Responsibilities: Design and Methodology Work closely with business units, application teams, infrastructure areas, and vendors to identify, review, and evaluate solution requirements. Investigate and propose strategic virtualization, consolidation, and rationalization solutions within infrastructure or business contexts. Propose changes to technical architecture and design solutions as applicable. Evaluate and align solutions across infrastructure platforms, considering system hardware and software technologies. Participate in long-term capacity planning and technology investments. Technical Consulting Provide consulting and planning guidance for highly complex projects and programs. Collaborate with other infrastructure areas to meet organizational and business goals. Participate in architectural, design development, and integration planning, ensuring alignment with established strategies and principles. Planning and Organizing Identify and evaluate projects and initiatives, designing processes to enhance solutions. Map requirements into standard service solutions, identifying opportunities for reuse and cost-effective solutions for complex projects. Review and manage requirements, conducting cost, feasibility, and risk analyses. Risk Management Develop and update architectural standards, principles, and strategies. Evaluate and approve complex design solutions for business and infrastructure projects.
