Position Summary
Trident seeks an enthusiastic and highly capable Principal DevOps Engineer (internal Level "5") to join our growing organization. This role will aid the overall Trident team with improving and standardizing Pipeline and Embedded Software production environments. This role is open for remote applicant consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support current local systems and remote AWS development and test environments, collaborating with project and customer team members, while spearheading improved solutions toward benefits in reuse and operational efficiencies.
Maintain synergy with Security and IT for compliance alignment.
Automate provisioning of test compute equipment.
Support DevOps tools and associated CI/CD pipelines with configurations to suit specific programs.
Participate in Agile sprints and associated activities.
Create robust and reusable product test plans for software and hardware.
Support engagements related to assessing, refactoring, and identifying opportunities for existing applications to take advantage of modern application architectures.
Identify pain points and improve DevOps maturity for Programs including development, builds, releases, deployment, and monitoring, with security and agile processes/methods/capabilities.
Automate application and BSP deployment into varied and complex environments using virtual machines, container technologies, embedded hardware, and bare metal servers.
Ability to support travel or off-site work, as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
At least 10 years of experience, including experience in leading integration and production activities.
Experience in supporting DevOps tools and associated pipeline environments such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, SonarQube, Zephyr, and Artifactory.
Proficiency in Linux system administration and Git.
Familiarity with automation strategies through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.
Scripting and/or coding skills (Java, Python, Bash, etc.).
Excellent oral, written, and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
CompTIA Security+ certification.
Experience creating product verification and validation plans.
Experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, etc.)
Experience working with Container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.).
Experience with on-premises to cloud migrations or IT transformations.
Experience in system platform maintenance (STIGs, compile dependencies, etc.).
Experience in database administration (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, etc.).
Familiarity with Information Security frameworks/standards (CIS, NIST, RFC2196, etc.).
AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional.
