Join a team of industry experts driving innovation in cybersecurity, automation, and AI. At our client, you'll work on high-impact problems, collaborate with top talent, and shape the future of autonomous threat detection.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Principal AI Engineer to lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance AI systems for cybersecurity. This role is ideal for a technical leader who thrives at the intersection of AI architecture, security, and engineering excellence.

You will architect the AI layer powering autonomous detection, RAG-backed investigation, and auto-remediation workflows. The role involves mentoring engineering teams, driving innovation, and partnering cross-functionally to translate real-world attacker behavior into robust ML and rule-based detections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build AI systems for autonomous detection, investigation, and remediation
  • Develop and productionize LLMs, graph-based reasoning engines, and streaming feature pipelines
  • Own evaluation and reliability processes including prompt libraries, finetuning, red-team testing, and latency optimization
  • Mentor AI engineers, lead design reviews, and uphold code quality and security-first principles
  • Collaborate with Product, Detection Engineering, and Customer Success to translate attacker behavior into effective detections
  • Experiment with retrieval-augmented generation, tool-calling agents, and multimodal models (text + logs + graphs)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in software development using Python, Go, Rust, or Java
  • Deep knowledge of LLM architecture, prompt engineering, and vector database workflows
  • Hands-on experience with agentic frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, Agno AGI, or custom orchestration)
  • Expertise in microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and event-driven systems
  • Strong API design skills (REST/gRPC) and distributed systems fundamentals
  • Excellent communication and collaborative problem-solving skills

Preferred Attributes

  • Prior experience in cybersecurity (SIEM, EDR, SOAR, MDR)
  • Familiarity with graph databases or security-focused knowledge graphs
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure security (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Background in leading teams within high-growth startups or enterprise SaaS

Preferred Certifications

  • AWS/GCP Professional Engineer
  • Kubernetes Certification
  • Security-related credentials (e.g., CISSP, CEH)
