Plant Engineer

Job Description
- Monitor and analyze performance of power plant equipment and building equipment.
- Track efficiency, and production, and produce operational dispatch for major equipment.
- Develop economic models and analyze cost-efficiency of various plant configurations.
- Review readings, flag anomalies, and suggest operational enhancements.
- Calculate, monitor, and report key performance indicators; produce weekly and monthly reports.
- Produce reports on procurement and invoicing processes
- Assist in procurement process, verify GL codes and troubleshoot issues.
- Assist in investigations of incidents, outages, and unusual events to enhance reliability.
- Analyze equipment, process, and procedural failures, perform root cause analysis, and facilitate corrective actions.
- Plan and execute small capital projects, serving as project manager when required.
- Coordinate planned shutdowns and assist in unplanned outage analysis and recovery.
- Maintain up to date records of procedures, documentation, drawings, and schematics.
- Interface with vendors, and contractors to resolve technical issues and align with plant goals.
- Produce a weekly electrical export schedule and nominate gas usage for the facility
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned or needed.
Educational Requirements:
- Relevant work experience may substitute education
- Possession of a valid NY/NJ/CT/PA driver license in good standing, is a plus.
Work Experience and Minimum Requirements:
- Demonstrated understanding and proficiency in power plant operations, maintenance, or engineering, including operations and maintenance components.
- Previous experience in root cause analysis and reporting.
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office.
- Strong foundation with spreadsheets is required. Some familiarity with a programming language is preferred.
- Familiarity with Adobe in Design, or similar product.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
Testing:
- Drug screening, as permitted by, and consistent with, applicable law.
Physical Requirements:
Persons performing service in this position classification may routinely exert up to 25 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This type of work will involve regular walking or standing for extended periods of time. It may involve climbing vertical ladders, going into tight spaces, stooping or bending. Handling and working with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.
